This label shows the current database. A database, in Sybase, is like a directory in a filesystem under Unix. It is a 'place' where information (tables of data) are stored.

Having multiple database allows us to organize the data meaningfully rather than storing all tables in one, crowded, difficult-to-navigate location.

UCO/Lick users: Databases of interest to you will be

F89, F90, F91 etc (fiscal years of financial data),

work (worksheet tables of various kinds), and

info (general Observatory information).
