Dashboard

is a not-quite-integral part of the Lick Observatory Memes/Agents
(Knowledge Base) suite. It's a soft GUI intended for use with
Real Time systems.

Go to

	and "Take the Tour"

to find out everything you ever wanted to know about Dashboard.
It was the subject of a paper at Tcl97 in Boston. That paper is
online in the Docs section of the Tour. In fact, a staggering
amount of information is online describing our entire project,
the realtime system we use, and how Dashboard works with that
system and with the Knowledge Base (Memes/Agents) component
of the project.

This is the source kit for Dashboard. If you don't read the Web info,
you will not know what to do with it. It is not self-documenting.

The HOWTO file was written recently for internal consumption and
will enlighten you as to command line flags. It doesn't tell you
anything about the difference between Engineer and Observer mode,
but if you try it you'll find out.

You can run Dashboard in Fake Developer mode

	engr df

with no database. A sample keyword cache file PFCAM.kwd is included
to get you started.

This product is not officially packaged and supported. What
that means is that I will try to help you make it work, but
I don't get paid to do that (in fact, I could get in trouble
for doing too much of it!).

If there is sufficient public interest, I will repackage Dashboard
and pay more attention to support. For now, you are more or less
on your own.

Bugfixes, comments, packaging suggestions will be welcome, though
perhaps not incorporated as rapidly as one might like.
